No, it's not a 50s political statement! It's a little red haired girl in a red dress -- a red, white, and blue historical revue, red valentine hearts for a life long love story -- a murder mystery -- these are the components of the new ACT I season, with the theme "Better Red Than Dead."

Produced by ACT I STAGE! Our summer theatre camp production opened our 2003 - 2004 season and gave a fresh look at American History from the fateful journey of Christopher Columbus to the heroes of modern day. The performances was the culmination of our ACT I STAGE! summer theatre camp, directed by Marcy Horst.

On August 4, 1924, the comic strip Little Orphan Annie by Harold Gray debuted in the New York Daily News. Harold Gran continued to write the strip for the next 44 years. In 1977, Annie arrived on Broadway with her own show, which came to Vinton in September in our own sparkling ACT I production! With music by the same composer as two other past ACT I musicals (Bye Bye Birdie and Charlotte's Web) this show promises to a favorite for our patrons of all ages!
