A Season of Theatre Classics
for
2000 - 2001

Our first full season with the Palace Theatre as our resident performance venue, dubbed A Season of Theatre Classics, opened with a wonderful children's theatre treat, the classic musical Charlotte's Web.  This show featured the largest cast ACT I has ever assembled; nearly 100 performers.  Other "classic" plays presented included the much loved musical My Fair Lady and the comedy Harvey.  We also added a classical vocal recital, Intermezzo, and a reader's theatre series, performed "off site" at the Ray House, with the classic plays A Christmas Carol and The Crucible.  A highlight of our Variety Show, Encore! Encore!, was ACT I's first presentation of the visual arts, entitled Picture This, a photography exhibit which could be viewed by patrons before and after the show and during intermission.
Our many debuts during the Season of Theatre Classics included Bonnie Carpenter, Edgar Dickerson, Dave Gates, Allen and Bonnie Leuckenotto, Alan Nebola, Rick Murphy, Jessica Rundlett, Sherry Stout, and Greg Walston.
