Minutes of April Meeting

Sunday, April 8, 2001

The Ray House

Board Members Present: Pat Lyons, Joan Cooling, Steve Arnold, Linda Radcliffe, Larry Adams-Bowers, Ron Baldwin, Le Cox

President Pat Lyons presiding

Call to order: 7:07 PM

Motion: (Larry/Le) To approve minutes of the previous meeting as corrected. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Pat presented the board with a printed report.  Linda indicated that the two mortgages on the Palace have now been paid down to just $6,080 on the first and approximately $16,000 on the mortgage against the pledges.

Motion: (Steve/Ron) To approve the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried.

Old Business:

Costume Racks Steve has talked to Ida and she will contact Roger Albert about planning the new racks.

Computer Purchase Pat has purchased the computer for the box office, a new Gateway laptop.  He would like to purchase a docking station for it for approximately $200.00.

Motion:  (Steve/Larry) To purchase the docking station.  Motion carried. 

Discussion: Reception for Sponsors Joan is in charge of putting this together which will be held at the 4th Street Coffee Company after opening night of Harvey, May 11.

Discussion: Shakespeare Class Steve, with Alex Vasquez, propose to teach a class called "Playing Shakespeare" in June prior to the auditions for Romeo and Juliet.  The class will be open to anyone from incoming seventh graders and older and the cost will be approximately $16.00, to cover the cost of the materials.

Motion: To present the class "Playing Shakespeare" as presented by Steve.  Motion carried.

Discussion: 2001 - 2002 Season Promotion  The committee to promote the new season was discussed.  Brian Larkin will be appointed to chair the committee.

Motion:  (Steve/Larry)  To appoint Brian Larkin chair of the Season Promotion Committee.  Motion carried.

Discussion:  Ticket Prices  Pat appointed a committee consisting of himself, Brian Larkin, and Steve Arnold to make a recommendation to the board regarding ticket prices for the coming season.

Production Report:  The Crucible  Le reports the production is going well.  Bob Moen has told Le that we can use Ray House for the work of cleaning it, but Le feels we should pay something as well.  Dean and Nancy Beckman will assist Linda with box office and serving.  Deb Vaughn will serve as stage manager and house manager.

Production Report:  Harvey  It was reported by board members in the cast that the production is going well.

Discussion:  Summer Grants  Pat informed the board that the Gilchrist Trust has given us a $1,000 grant to help fund our STAGE! summer camp.

Correspondence:  Linda read a letter from Party in the Park inviting us to participate by presenting short performances during the day.

Discussion:  Next meeting  It was decided to hold the next meeting on Sunday, May 6 at 6:00 as the second Sunday falls during the Harvey run.

Motion: (Ron/Larry) To adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 8:26 PM.
