Board Members Present: Joan Cooling, Marcy Horst, Steve Arnold, Linda Radcliffe, Ron Baldwin, Brian Larkin, Larry Adams-Bowers

Call to Order: 8:40 PM

The following corrections were noted in the minutes: Clare Horst and not Erin Horst is appearing in the Cemetery Walk, as well as Becky Mossman, not Kathy Mossman.

Motion: (Brian / Ron) To approve the minutes as corrected. Motion carried.

Motion: (Steve / Larry) That the cut off date for the sale of Season Tickets be the final performance of Family Affair (September 8.) Motion carried.

Discussion: Cruise We will operate a booth at the Cruise again this year. Linda is in charge. We will be working from around noon until 9 or 10 at night. Larry will take charge of soliciting volunteers.

Treasurer’s Report: Our current balance is $3492.64 after bills have been paid.

Motion: (Steve / Marcy) To approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried.

Discussion: Budget The board did not feel we were ready to approve the 2001 - 2002 budget by the end of July in accordance with the by-laws.

Motion: (Ron / Marcy) To suspend the by-laws so that the budget be prepared by the end of August. Motion carried.

Discussion: Compensation of Directors The board discussed possible compensation to directors, including listing directors among the Gems as donors. It was agreed to list directors of Main Stage shows as gems at the $250 level, and second level directors of Main Stage shows and directors of Events Series shows at the $100 level.

Motion: (Brian / Steve) To approve placing directors among the Palace Gems (as described above.) Motion carried.

Discussion: Meeting with the Trustees The board discussed meeting with the ACT I appointed trustees to discuss concerns about "the wall."

Motion: (Marcy / Brian) To set up a meeting with Mark Mossman, Dick Kerdus, and Pat Lyons. Motion carried.

Discussion: Celebration Iowa The Celebration Iowa Singers (including ACT I members Aaron Murphy and Beckie Stravers) will be appearing in Riverside Park August 3. Lu Karr would like to borrow platforms belonging to ACT I for this program. The board agreed to do this.

Discussion: Next Meeting The next meeting will be held Monday, August 13, 2001 at the ACT I Studio at 8:30 PM.

Motion: (Ron/Larry) To adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
