“Life with Mother” To Open This Weekend

Dress rehearsals at the Palace Theatre for “Life With Mother” proceed all this week in preparation for the opening of this season’s final production.  The show’s talented and worthy cast and crew have been working overtime the last few weeks, under the direction of ACT I veteran Ray Bookmeier and Assistant Director, Sue Freet, to present Benton County theatre goers with a polished, hilarious, and expertly staged sequel to “Life With Father.”  We first met the Clarence Day family in May of the 1997 ACT I Season.  Many of the main cast members have returned to reprise their roles.  This is a show you won’t want to miss.  “Life With Mother” opens June 15, and runs June 16, 17, 22, 23, and 25.  Tickets are on sale now and may be reserved by calling 472-9957.  Curtain times are 7:30 for evening performances and 2:00 for the Sunday performance.  Note that we are performing Thursday nights for this production, skipping Sunday of the first weekend (Father's Day) and Saturday of the second weekend (Party in the Park.)

Message from the Editor

I caught a snippet of the “Life With Mother” dress rehearsal last evening, and may confess to chuckling out loud more than once.  I look forward to viewing the production in its entirety.  I can also vouch for the incredible set, as we “Charlotte’s Web” people have been stumbling through and around the amazing structure throughout the past two weeks.  Kevin Bookmeier (Stage manager, Technical Director) and the rest of the “Life With Mother” set crew have truly put together an awesome stage presentation.

In the meantime, Shirale, April, Joan, and I, with the help of student directors, Ryan Calderwood and Erin Horst, and student choreographer Clare Horst, have been busy molding and shaping 78 young children into various animals and other alter egos.  We are having such fun (one young “goose” actually cheered when I announced added evening rehearsals)!  Don’t forget to reserve your seats for “Charlotte’s Web,” as well as “Life With Mother.”
