The Board of Directors of ACT I of Benton County is pleased to announce our 2008 - 2009 season, For Better or Worse.   The season features several well known titles coming to ACT I audiences for the first time.

The Main Stage Series opens October 3 - 12 with the Rodgers and Hammerstein favorite Oklahoma! at the Palace Theatre.  The musical will be directed by David Canaday, assisted by Pam Primmer.  Main Stage continues March 7 - 15 at the Palace with the thriller Deathtrap by Ira Levin.  The director will be Pam Primmer in her ACT I directing debut, assisted by Ray Bookmeier.  Our Main Stage offerings conclude May 8 - 17 with a run of the old favorite Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring, directed by Nancy Beckman.

Our summer children's theatre program again features two different summer camps for the youth of Benton County.  We are pleased to have a return of the Old Creamery Theatre's Camp Creamery again this year, this time filling the slot for our Stage Two camp in Van Horne.  The week long camp will conclude June 20 and 21 at the Benton Community High School auditorium with performances of A Star is Born, produced by Old Creamery Education Director Jackie Wynes, and other Old Creamery staff members.  Production Coordinator for ACT I is Mary Horst.  On August 8, 9, and 10 Stage One Camp in Vinton presents All's Well that Ends Swell, directed by Marcy Horst and Shirale Hanson.  ACT I performs for the first time in a brand new venue for us with that production, the new Vinton-Shellsburg High School auditorium.

Two productions will be featured in our Events Series during the coming season.  The Series opens November 14 - 16 at the Palace  Theatre with The Cay, presented by first time director Ken Dukes.  The series concludes February 13 and 14 at the Vinton Country Club with Love is in the Air, Directed by Lois Martin.
