The Tenth Anniversary
ACT I grew in popularity and continued to attract new talent during years six through ten. Although usually performing at The Old Creamery Theatre, we occasionally used the auditoriums at Tilford Middle School and the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School. Highlights of the second five years included our first musical, which was also our first world premiere production -- Lovingly Yours, written by director C. Thomas Cunliffe with music by long time Vinton musician Skeet Powers. In April of 1980, ACT I celebrated its tenth anniversary with Play On, produced at Tilford Middle School. Participants who debuted during those years include Brian Beresford, Jill and Tony Bopp, Geneva Bridge, Faith Brown, Robert Fischer, Brenda (Witt) Hackbarth, Steve Koch, Dave Nolte, Tom Noonan, Mary Phillips, Nancy Stroschein, Denny and Kathy Thole, Eric Upmeyer, Elisabeth Young, and Emily Zimmer.
