Green Room Shop Area

Because of space constraints, the Palace could not have separate green room and shop space. Thus, the green room serves both functions. Along the stage door wall, a three level structure adds additional space to the green room to provide a small shop office as well as storage for flats, platforms, and other set components.
The present green room space occupies that portion of the building that was the original stage when the theatre was first built in 1915. In the original construction, dressing rooms were located under the stage; however in the present renovation, that space was discovered to have been filled with rubble and asbestos was found to be present. Clearing the space was ruled not to be cost effective and so the basement space was sealed.

A large overhead door at the rear of the building leads directly into the green room and can be used for easy transport of large pieces into or out of the theatre.
