For 2002, ACT I’s Christmas Card to our audiences was this beautiful hour long recital of favorite Christmas music. The program was named in honor of that most popular of Christmas Carols, first performed in Austria on Christmas Eve, 1818. The performance began with a recreation of the first performance of Silent Night, using a tenor, bass, and guitar. The performance also ended with Silent Night, this time in a very contemporary treatment.
Before the performance, members of the audience were treated to caroling in the dining room and entrance hall by Sonshine; and were treated to a delicious table of hors d’oeuvres following.
