Our 1999 – 2000 main season got underway in September with a production of a play which is arguably the finest piece ever written for the stage by an American author. “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams, originally produced in 1947, is set in New Orleans and features sizzling drama between sisters Blanche DuBois and Stella Kowalski and Stella’s husband, Stanley.
